Oliver, a golden retriever, once shared a deep, loving bond with his owner Emma. But when Emma’s new boyfriend Jake enters her life, she grows increasingly distant from him, leaving Oliver feeling neglected and heartbroken. He runs away from home, struggling to survive on the streets as a stray—enduring hunger, attacks from feral dogs, and harsh rainstorms until he is left on the brink of death.
He is rescued by a kind little girl named Sophie and her father Tom, who take him in and nurse him back to health with gentle care. Yet Oliver never stops yearning for his original owner. Unable to bear his quiet sorrow, Tom and Sophie make the bittersweet choice to let him go search for Emma. Meanwhile, a guilt-ridden Emma has been frantically looking for Oliver in the rain.
